Dr. Kara Haines
Doctorate of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine (DACM),
Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)
Practice What You Preach.
I am a world traveler who fell in love with Oriental Medicine while living and volunteering in Costa Rica. After personally experiencing what acupuncture could do, I decided to learn how to provide the same "magical" effects for others.
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego.
Eventually, I packed my bags and went to sea, working as an acupuncturist and herbalist on cruise ships for nearly two years. After many adventures, I planted roots in Brevard and opened my private practice. I am also a professor at the Daoist Traditions of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville as well as at Brevard College.
I feel fortunate to have found a calling in a career that I am passionate about. This medicine not only allows me to help others, but it also inspires and motivates me to further my knowledge, overcome obstacles, and feel accomplished along the way. If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.
I am grateful to be part of this beautiful medical field that has been changing lives for thousands of years. I am licensed by the state of North Carolina and a Nationally board certified diplomate of acupuncture and herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Education and growth is very important to me as well. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me for I am happy to provide you with reassurance and information. If acupuncture is right for you we can design a treatment plan together that works best for your unique individuality. I look to meeting you!
“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
To gain all while you give, To roam the roads of lands remote,
To travel is to live.”
