Dr. Kara Haines Flint

Doctorate of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine (DACM),
Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)

I am a world traveler who fell in love with Oriental Medicine while living and volunteering in Costa Rica. After personally experiencing what acupuncture could do, I decided to learn how to provide the same "magical" effects to others.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego.

Eventually, I packed my bags and went to sea, working as an acupuncturist and herbalist on cruise ships for nearly two years. After many adventures, I planted roots in Brevard and opened my private practice. I have also taught as a professor at both the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville and Brevard College.

As a general practitioner, I enjoy treating a wide range of conditions (pain, digestion, anxiety, and more). Once I became blessed with my own family, my general practice expanded to a Family Practice. Ever since my own experience with pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and now motherhood I especially enjoy working with other moms or moms-to-be along their journey.

Providing acupuncture and Chinese herbs for those wishing to enhance their fertility, benefit their pregnancy, nurture postpartum, and holistically balance their children brings me great joy.

I am grateful to be part of this beautiful medical field that has been changing lives for thousands of years. I am licensed by the state of North Carolina and a Nationally board-certified diplomate of acupuncture and herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Education and growth are very important to me as well. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, for I am happy to provide you with reassurance and information. If acupuncture is right for you we can design a treatment plan together that works best for your unique individuality. I look to meeting you!

To travel is to live.”
